Pig and Bear in Business (Czechoslovakia)

Pig and Bear decided to open food stalls at the local market.

Pig baked potatoes.  Bear fried a bunch of doughnuts.

They took their food to the market and set up their shops.

Soon, Bear got hungry.  Pig’s potatoes smelled very good to him.

“Say Pig, how much are you selling those potatoes for?”

“Five cents,” said Pig.

Bear had five cents in his pocket.  He gave Pig five cents and chose a big fat baked potato.

Now Pig had made a sale.  He decided to treat himself.

“How much are your doughnuts, Bear”?

“Five cents,” said Bear.

“Perfect!  I will buy a doughnut!”  It was delicious.

Bear was feeling good.  He’d made a sale!  He decided to have another potato, and he gave Pig five cents.  Wonderful!

Now Pig was feeling hungry.  Those doughnuts looked really tasty.  Pig treated himself to another doughnut.

By then it was lunchtime, and Bear used the five cents Pig had paid him to buy another potato.

And so it went on.

At the end of the day, the two friends counted their money.  They had sold all their stock, but between them, they had only five cents!
